Educational Programs Summary
Review the links below to find more information on the programs we have
at CEF.
Chester Education Foundation provides innovative educational programming to
elementary, middle, and high schools of the Chester Upland School District that
meets the requirements and guidelines established by PA Act 4 of 2001 and which
use specialized instructional materials, instructors and instruction not provided by
the school district.
Chester Education Foundation selects programs to fund/implement through an
inclusive process that involves parents, students, teachers, school administrators
and other member agencies of the Communities That Care Network. We first
determine need by examining benchmarked data such as standardized test scores,
attendance records, grades, etc. We get input from teachers, principals, parents,
and students through the Parent Involvement Committee, focus groups and
surveys. We determine what resources are already available to address the need.
Next, we look at research based programs such as the Prevention Blueprints or
Promising Approaches or other best practices. After the Project Committee has
decided on an approach, we develop a project action plan, solicit funding and
begin to implement start-up activities with our school partners.
