Chester Education Foundation selects programs to
fund/implement through an inclusive process that involves
parents, students, teachers, school administrators and other
member agencies of the Communities That Care Network.  We
first determine need by examining benchmarked data such as
standardized test scores, attendance records, grades, etc.  We
get input from teachers, principals, parents, and students
through the Parent Involvement Committee, focus groups and
surveys.  We determine what resources are already available
to address the need. Next, we look at research based
programs such as the Prevention Blueprints or Promising
Approaches or other best practices.  After the Project
Committee has decided on an approach, we develop a project
action plan, solicit funding and begin to implement start-up
activities with our school partners.
