Summer Training and Employment (STEP) Program

The STEP summer internship program is funded by the Delaware County Office of Workforce Development. Students earned $10.35/hour for working in the summer internship program. Students get to experience several career opportunities with local employers in the city of Chester and surrounding areas. Eligibility requirements are based on federal guidelines. Students who participate in the program are encouraged to continue their involvement with Chester Education Foundation's after-school programs including tutoring, social and cultural enrichment, job and career readiness training.

Chester Education STEP Program

SUMMER 2019

Students in the Summer STEP Program were provided opportunities to experience real professional work environments. These experiences sparked students’ curiosity in a variety of fields. They gained valuable work experience, knowledge and pay in specific fields and occupations. Often, students get a feel for where they may want to work in the future. As a result of having this summer work experience, four students were hired by their employers.
